As mother nature springs life into trees, flowers and heats up the alleys of Gamla Stan, we figured it would be a bloody fantastic opportunity to throw a jazz festival for all you ragtime-eaters out there. Brahe Spring Jazz Fest is a THING and it has come to create a short but sweet chaos in your 'sooo busy' spring calendars.
Three nights, three jazz-acts and three million reasons to join us as we kick life into a season filled with hope, warmth and dazzling evenings at Bar Brahe. Oh, and there will be surprises. Get in here, old friend, and let’s bash away the winter cold together.

JAZZ FEST LINE-UP
25/4 - Johanna Pettersson, born 2000, is a young, energetic and colourful jazz singer with a passion for jazz legends such as Abbey Lincoln, Carmen McRae and Sonny Rollins. She has been compared to a competitive swimmer - takes her places, makes melodic pirouettes and lands with perfect precision. Through her totally fearless expression, she tackles jazz tradition in an unique way, with captivating swing, modern improvisation and heartfelt storytelling. Johanna Pettersson is a brilliant artist that shines!
26/4 - Fredrik Ljungkvist Trio formed in 2002 and is made up of members that even play in well-known bands such as Atomic, Bobo Stenson Trio and together with Georg Riedel. The trios music musik is characterised by its playfulness, interation and desire for experimentation. Their long-awaited debut album 'Atlantis' will be released by independent jazz label Moserobie in the middle of October. The album was recored on a sunny day in April 2019 in the legendary Atlantis studio in Stockholm.
27/4 - Do you remember when the Masaka Trio came to us together with Timbuktu? We do. With a stripped down sound, swinging rhythm and soulful chords, the trio takes you with them to a jazz club in Harlem. This time, the trio will be joined by the fantastic Esther Kirabo. Kirabo's musical expression comes from within. Between the ages of 6 and 18, she sang in a church choir and played the drums, which built the base for her musicality. She delivers a warm, esoteric feeling and has a unique and rich tone in both voice and sound. This is an evening not to be missed!
