The docks outside Gamla Stan were once filled with filthy smugglers and seductive ladies of the night. In these times, there was a place around the corner where merchants collected bricks and coffee for export. The legacy of this old shipment warehouse remains within the walls of the new jazz and booze den, Bar Brahe.

May 5 - It's a cold, misty morning. The sun will soon bless us with its warmth and the wind will guide us on our adventures. The ship is being packed with the last of our necessities for the long travels - barley, brännvin, peas and salted herring. First stop, Gothenburg.

December 3 - We are slowly approaching our furthest destination east. The air feels warm and dry in contrast to the cold water splashing through the gun ports on deck. Yet, I crave a warm beverage and those spices l've heard so much about and never had the pleasure of tasting.
